CII organaises one day ‘Defence & Space Conclave at Hyderabad
Confederation of Indian Industry, Telangana chapter organised one day ‘Defence & Space Conclave in Hyderabad on 5th October 2023 with the theme ‘Enabling a global ecosystem for innovations in disruptive technologies’. The aim of the conclave was to deliberate and highlight the opportunities that are present in both defence & space industries, contributions of the State to the Indian and global industry, what the industry feels is the way forward for growth and development of the industries in the State and the support that the industry seeks from the State and Central governments. Addressing the gathering Dr. Vishu Vardhan Reddy, special secretary Invest Telangana, said that the Russia-Ukraine war has shown that the time of building missiles costing millions of dollars to shoot down unmanned vehicles like the drones has become obsolete, and the focus should be on anti-drone technology by the defence and aerospace industry. He said that The Telangana government has given top priority to the sector and is actively engaged in discussion with the premier universities in United Kingdom, France and United States to set up an exclusive aerospace university. Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, former chairman of the DRDO, Dr. S.K. Jha, Chairman and Managing Directo, Mishra Dhatu Nigam (MIDHANI), Dr. Chandrika Kaushik, Director General, DRDO also spoke.
