SkyDrive Japan signs MoU with Indian companies

SkyDrive Inc., a leading Electric Vertical Take-off, and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturer based in Japan has announced on 16th January 2024 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Marut Drones, a leading drone technology manufacturer in India. This agreement is to enter the partnership to make a significant milestone in the development of futuristic air transportation in India. Under the agreement, SkyDrive and Marut Drones aim to explore and establish mutually beneficial relationships and networks. Established in 2019 by three IIT graduates, Marut Drones has a vision to advance agriculture. It aims to build the agricultural infrastructure that will provide the world with sufficient, diversified, and safe food.

SkyDrive Inc. earlier announced on 12th January 2024 that it entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a joint technical collaboration on eVTOL “SKYDRIVE” (SKYDRIVE” is a product name) with Cyient, a global Intelligent Engineering and Technology Solutions company headquartered in Hyderabad, India. This was its first and unique partnership with an Indian engineering company, which agreed to work across product development, engineering, manufacturing, and digital services. 

SkyDrive was formally established in July 2018 after testing flying car concepts and prototypes from 2014. The company succeeded in the first crewed eVTOL flight test in Japan in 2019 and its eVTOL “SKYDRIVE” is in the process of acquiring its Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) certification.
