ALMACO promotes event at Petrobras

On August 23, the Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO) will promote the event “Pultrusion – Innovations, Solutions and Trends” at the Petrobras Research Center (CENPES), in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

“The objective of the meeting is to reinforce the benefits of using pultruded composites, to show their compliance with technical standards and to detail some global cases of applications similar to those that Petrobras needs," said Erika Bernardino, manager of ALMACO.

Petrobras is a traditional consumer of pultruded profiles in the form of floor gratings, handrails and guardrails, but there are several other uses cataloged around the world, such as special pipes and poles, for example.

In general terms, ALMACO´s event will be composed of six lectures presented by specialists in raw materials used in the manufacture of pultruded composites, including resins, reinforcements (glass and carbon fibers) and structural adhesives. About 50 engineers, specifiers and managers of several Petrobras units are expected to participate.

“It will be an excellent opportunity to publicize the composite materials and, at the same time, to know the demands of Petrobras in detail when it comes to pultrusion,” Erika adds.
